Other fixes and changes

  1. fixed a bug that caused certain games to freeze or glitch after waking from sleep in some titles
  2. fixed a performance issue that could cause a 100ms hit during gameplay when adaptive backlight is enabled
  3. fixed graphics driver crash when manipulating maps in DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT
  4. fixed a problem when opening the file manager if the gamescope session was restarted
  5. fixed problem with GPU clock setting not being fixed when manually setting GPU clock Fixed an issue where excessive sensor polling of the fan controller could cause fan instability and increase SSD temperature on some NVME drives New firmware for Docking Station Fixed a problem that HDMI 2.0 displays were not detected during wake-up or boot-up
  6. added new option to allow Screen Tearing to reduce average latency at the cost of displaying partial frames when VSync is disabled and frame limiter is off
  7. modified Performance HUD Level 2 to use horizontal layout. Fits into letterbox space for games running at 16:9 aspect ratio.
  8. re-enable TRIM on internal drives and supported external storage devices to improve write performance (including workarounds to safely perform TRIM operations on SD cards that advertise discard support but are not supported)
  9. periodic TRIM of storage devices as needed by the Steam OS
  10. added a button in Settings → System → Advanced to perform TRIM immediately
  11. added an eject option for removable drives in Settings → Storage (this unmounts removable drives, not physically ejects them)
  12. ext4 formatted external drives are now automatically mounted and usable by Steam OS
  13. disable kernel DualShock 4 and DualSense trackpad to mouse emulation when running Steam
  14. changed timing of virtual key presses to improve game compatibility with on-screen keyboards
  15. fixed typing issues with Street Fighter V, EA apps, and other apps
  16. fixed Steam Input action set switching based on cursor visibility in game mode
  17. re-enabled built-in hid-steam kernel gamepad driver and added rumble support when Steam is not running in desktop mode
  18. added support for 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless controller dongle
  19. fixed USB crash when using certain controllers such as Hori Fighting Stick alpha
  20. fixed an issue where the default audio device would show "echo-cancel-sink" and audio controls would not work properly
  21. fixed a problem in which some applications could output audio to the wrong device
  22. fixed a bug that could cause cracks in the onboard audio due to a problem in the audio driver
